Rope Access Devegetation Case Study

We recently completed the devegetation work for one of our valued clients at a watercourse located between Glasgow and Beith.

The job required the culvert to be cleared of all vegetation so that a scheduled inspection of the site could be carried out. Because this is a watercourse with a thriving surrounding ecology, we were not allowed to use chainsaws to complete our work so instead had to resort to more traditional methods of devegetation.

As part of the job, we had to remove fallen trees, branches, moss, algae and soil. Using rope access equipment, we were able to safely complete the devegetation work safely.

The only ‘set back’ that we had was that this devegetation job was being carried out at the same time that Scotland was hit by two separate storms including Storm Isha which saw winds around 100mph hit the country.

As with everything we do, the work was completed to a very high standard and is proof once again of the advantages of rope access services over other access methods. Other methods of access would have been too dangerous to human life and the risk of slipping on the wet surrounding area. While the rope access services allowed us to reach all areas of the structure to complete the devegetation work without any issues.
